The Paranaque City government has imposed curfew hours from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. for minors aged 18 years old and below starting Thursday, Jan.6, amid the surge in COVID-19 cases.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered the police and the barangay officials to conduct routine patrol all over the city and apprehend curfew hour violators.
Olivarez said the imposition of curfew hours for minors was made to ensure that they will just stay home, especially those who are still unvaccinated, to protect them from the virus. The mayor said based on the report of the City Health Office , a total of 190 new cases was reported on Jan. 5, bringing the city’s total confirmed cases to 543.
Olivarez said the CHO reported that 14 communities in the city already recorded double digit COVID-19 cases except Barangays Don Galo with six cases, and Vitales with 3. He said the villages with the highest number of cases are Barangays BF Homes with 74 cases; Baclaran with 69; San Isidro with 58; Merville with 45; and Moonwalk with 42.
