MANILA, Philippines – Noong February 28, isang tanker na may 800,000 na litro ng industrial oil ang tumaob sa Tablas Island sa Romblon. Hindi nagtagal, umabot ang oil sludge sa baybayin ng Oriental Mindoro at naapektuhan ang mga komunidad sa coastal barangays.
Ang mga residente ng Pola, Oriental Mindoro, gumamit ng mga balde, pansalok, tabo, at coconut husks upang pigilan ang pagtagas ng langis sa dalampasigan.
