The provincial government of Pangasinan celebrates a significant achievement in expanding healthcare access for its residents with over 1 million enrollments in the Government Unified Incentives for Medical Consultation program.

On March 1, 2025, the provincial government of Pangasinan announced that approximately 1.2 million residents from 39 municipalities and cities have registered in the Government Unified Incentives for Medical Consultation program. This program simplifies the registration process for residents to access outpatient benefits offered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Phil Health ).

The initiative aims to encourage residents, particularly those residing in remote barangays, to enroll in PhilHealth Konsulta without interrupting their daily routines. To facilitate registration, some residents received financial assistance, such as transportation allowances or wage compensation for the day, enabling them to participate. To reach remote areas, the provincial government organized caravans that brought registration services directly to residents' doorsteps. The program was launched in October 2024 following the approval of Provincial Ordinance 330-2024 by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, with unanimous support from all members. Enrollees in PhilHealth Konsulta can access medical consultations, health risk screening and assessment, selected laboratory and diagnostic tests, and a range of prescribed medications. Last month, the Department of Health recognized Pangasinan as one of three national awardees for the Healthy Communities Awards 2024, receiving a bronze award. This recognition was based on Pangasinan's achievement in meeting at least 50 percent of the required criteria, alongside Pasay City and Davao de Oro. The award evaluates 12 key components, encompassing areas like potable water and food security, active transport and road safety, housing, essential health services, quality education, clean environments, income support, and equitable health financing
