SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan: Government officials took turns in extending their sympathies to the family of Marjorette Garcia, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from this town who was stabbed to death in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) last month.
In a short program held at her wake in Barangay Awai here on Saturday, October 14, Department of Migrant Workers Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac expressed sadness at Garcia's death.Cacdac and other officials called Garcia a hero.Garcia's body arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from KSA on October 13.Pangasinan Rep.
'The province is one with the family and, of course, with the DMW and OWWA , in seeking justice on what happened to Marjorette,' he added.Garcia was reportedly stabbed by a Kenyan coworker on September 16.The suspect was arrested.'There is enough basis to file charges against the suspect. The case is now awaiting first hearing. A lawyer was hired to handle Marjorette's case,' Cacdac said.
