Sa naging kampanya ni Trump, ipinaalala sa ulat ni JP Soriano sa GMA News "24 Oras" nitong Miyerkoles, na kabilang sa plataporma ni Trump ang paghihigpit sa mga illegal immigrants.
Batay sa pinakahuling bilang ng US Census Bureau na nasilip ng GMA Integrated News Research, nasa mahigit 4.6 milyon ang mga Pilipino sa Amerika noong nakaraang 2023. “Kapag nanalo si Donald Trump magkakaron ng bagong wave of restrictions and new policies that will constrain immigration to the United States even for those who are already there,” paniwala ni Prof. Julio Teehankee, DLSU Political Science and International Studies.
Ngunit pagtitiyak ni US Ambassador Marykay Carlson na base sa kaniyang karanasan, hindi magbabago ang ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Amerika kahit magkaroon ng pagbabago sa liderato.
