Teachers, coaches, and technical staff from the Department of Education had come together, ready to relive their childhood memories and bask in the joy of traditional Filipino games.Larong Pinoy , a beloved side event of the ongoing Palarong Pambansa , offered a nostalgic journey back to simpler times.The event unfolded as a vibrant scene of laughter and playful shouts, with participants eagerly engaging in classic games like kadang-kadang, patintero, and tumbang preso.
Introduced at the Palarong Pambansa in 2019, Larong Pinoy's aims to promote and preserve the Philippines' rich cultural heritage, particularly Filipino traditional child games.DepEd Cebu City Superintendent Nimfa Bongo explained to The Manila Times the event's significance. She explained that Larong Pinoy helps generations learn about and play traditional Filipino games, fostering national pride and keeping these traditions alive.
