MANILA, Philippines —Malacañang suspended work in government and classes in all levels in Metro Manila and two other regions on Thursday, after being submerged in floodwaters caused by the southwest monsoon or 'habagat' enhanced by Tyhoon 'Carina.'
MANILA, Philippines —Malacañang suspended work in government and classes in all levels in Metro Manila and two other regions on Thursday, after being submerged in floodwaters caused by the southwest monsoon or 'habagat' enhanced by Tyhoon 'Carina.'President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued the order through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin which, aside from Metro Manila also included Region III and Region IV-A .
However, Bersamin said 'those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.' 'The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads,' he added.
