Malacañang is concerned about the dismissal of another forfeiture case against the Marcos family but is not keen on interfering with the affairs of the judiciary.
Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said the Palace would defer to the court to decide on the fate of the accused.
Asked if the Palace was bothered by the fourth case dismissed by the court, Panelo said: “Any government is concerned with the case filed by it against perceived transgressors of the law but it’s the court that always decides whether you have a case against the accused.” Panelo said the Palace would let the Office of the Solicitor General decide on whether or not to lodge an appeal before the anti-graft court.“You must remember this case was prosecuted prior to the administration. You cannot blame the present lawyers for that,” he said.
