Pagpapa-booster shot hinikayat dahil sa Omicron variant threat COVID19

MAYNILA—Hinikayat ng isang vaccine expert ang publiko na magpa-booster shot kontra coronavirus disease sa gitna ng banta ng Omicron variant.

Ayon kay Dr. Nina Gloriani, chairperson ng Department of Science and Technology vaccine expert panel, nakikita nilang malaki ang tsansang kumalat ang Omicron variant sa mga lugar na may mababang vaccination rate. Sabi naman ng World Health Organization na posible pa ring tumalab ang mga nauna nang nagawang bakuna, gayong wala pang kumpletong ebidensiya sa epekto ng Omicron variant sa bansa.

"The fact that they're not getting sick . . . That means the vaccines are still providing protection and we would hope that they would continue to provide protection," ani WHO chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan.
