Typhoon Chedeng maintained its strength and is expected to exit the country's weather monitoring area by Monday, the state weather bureau said early Friday morning.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Chedeng retained its maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 160 kph.PAGASA said the typhoon will remain far from landmass and is unlikely to bring direct heavy rainfall over any portion of the country in the next three to five days.
No wind signals have been raised at this time, but PAGASA said Typhoon Chedeng could enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat.
