Tropical storm
“Ambo” is back over the sea west of Luzon, after two days of making a number of landfall over the islands of Eastern Visayas and eastern portion of Luzon.
Weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said PAGASA is not discounting the possibility that, “the center of Ambo may skirt Batanes landmass,” making a potential landfall for the 8th time. Tropical cyclone warnings have been lifted or lowered in several areas after the weather disturbance moved offshore but rains may still prevail over Northern Luzon.
”Ambo” has further weakened on Saturday afternoon with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving north-northwest at 25 kph.
