he Home Development Mutual Fund, commonly known as Pag-IBIG, has released nearly P90 billion in housing loans from January to September.

In a statement, Pag-IBIG said it has lent P88.3 billion in home loans for its members in the first nine months, up six percent from the P83.31 billion in housing loans released in the same period last year.Of the total, about 12 percent or some 8,216 are Pag-IBIG members from the minimum wage and low-income sectors.Another P23.

“By the end of the year, we are optimistic that our home loan releases may even reach P130 billion,” she said. Under the Pag-IBIG’s Affordable Housing Program, eligible borrowers have a special subsidized rate of three percent per annum for home loans of up to P580,000 for socialized subdivision projects.
