TACLOBAN CITY – Authorities intercepted 37 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P277.5 million during an anti-carnapping operation on Thursday, September 5, near Jubasan Port in Barangay Jubasan, Allen, Northern Samar, just days after a similar haul in the area on August 31.
POLICE seized suspected shabu worth P277.5 million in Northern Samar on Thursday, September 5, days after a similar haul on August 31. The Police Regional Office-8-Regional Highway Patrol Unit-Northern Samar flagged down a metallic gray sedan for a routine inspection.
Its occupants were cited for seat belt violations and failure to present an official receipt and certificate of registration . A visual search was conducted and police noticed a suspicious black package resembling the packaging of suspected shabu seized in an operation on August 31. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-K9 unit was called for a thorough search and processing of the vehicle that resulted in a discovery of 37 black packages containing suspected shabu.
The three occupants of the vehicle, Karding, Pilo, and Mirot were apprehended and they face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act No. 9165.
