Jack Campbell of Souris scored two goals and was named the game’s first star in the Caps’ 5-3 win over the visiting Truro Bearcats on Feb. 16. The Caps, who improved to 27-13-1-0 , closed to within two points of the first-place Edmundston Blizzard in the Eastlink North Division of the Maritime Junior Hockey League .The Caps are scheduled to play in Edmundston on Feb. 17 with a huge four points on the table. The teams will play the regularly-scheduled game, which will consist of three 15-minute periods, and then play the final 20 minutes to complete a Jan.
The MHL presented the 15-period options for the regulation game, and both teams accepted that proposal. MHL president Troy Dumville recently told SaltWire Network the reason for the shortened periods is player safety as the Caps are playing three games in three days with considerable travel.Caps win 5 - 3 over
