THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Davao Region announced on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, during the AFP-PNP Press Corps press conference at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City, that they have not yet received any reports of overseas Filipino workers from the region affected by the current conflict situation in Israel.“As of this moment wala pay taga-Davao nga nangayog assistance but we already have our 24/7 hotline.

Based on the current report, around 24,807 Filipinos are working in Israel, wherein 22,173 are distributed in caregiving industry; 1,840 in hotel services; 680 from religious sectors and Filipino students from other countries . On the other hand, 6,808 are undocumented and permanent residents. Out of these numbers, the Owwa-Davao has yet to update the number of OFWs coming from the region.
