The office of Vice President Leni Robredo has yet to receive the locally developed test kits from the University of the Philippines-National Institutes of Health.

Speaking on her radio show, Robredo said she hoped the test kits would be delivered to her office this week so these will be distributed to those who are on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.“Hopefully early this week ma-deliver na sa amin. Kasi ito, ang request namin nito, iyong mga halimbawa health workers, mga uniformed men—mga pulis, AFP —na nasa frontline services, iyon sana iyong i-prioritize,” she said.

The test kits developed by UP scientists can accommodate up to 120,000 tests, with priority given to the Department of Science and Technology . It was the Food and Drug Administration that approved the test kits being sold commercially by Manila HealthTek Inc.
