The Office of the Vice President on Tuesday refuted the claim of Secretary Rex Gatchalian that the Department of Social Welfare and Development has accommodated all its requests for assistance.Norman Baloro, OVP director for operations, said that what Gatchalian revealed to a Senate panel on Monday was "inaccurate and misleading,” citing instances when the OVP referrals to DSWD were supposedly delayed or not acted upon.
According to him, the OVP Panay and Negros Islands satellite office has referred 7,056 applications for the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program and 2,597 applications for the Sustainable Livelihood Program to the DSWD office in Western Visayas, which remain pending up to now.
