Arellano University may already be out of contention in the NCAA Season 100, but the winning mentality remains abundant for the Chiefs as they headed to their penultimate assignment on Wednesday. The Chiefs displayed that attitude against a desperate Colegio de San Juan de Letran, overcoming a 14-point deficit to take a tight 67-65 victory and drag the Knights out of the semifinals race. "Sabi ko sa kanila, same goal naman tayo—to win games," Arellano coach Chico Manabat said.
In fact, the Chiefs held Estrada to just 10 points and Javillonar to 11 markers while Cuajao had a scoreless outing as they fired blanks in the crucial fourth quarter. With a 7-10 win-loss record so far, the Chiefs have already surpassed their production last year when they managed to rack up just two wins against 16 losses in Season 99. For Manabat, that already speaks volume of how much they improved in a span of one year.
