Operatives from the Marikina City Police Station (CPS) and the Eastern Police District (EPD) seized a combined total of P634,360 worth of illegal drugs in separate drug busts in Pasig and Marikina on Wednesday, June 14. ManilaBulletin

Three suspects, identified by Marikina CPS chief Col. Earl Castillo as “Eric,” 36, an area manager; “Jerox,” 57; and “Mona,” were arrested during a buy-bust operation at 2:20 a.m. at Diego Silang Street, Barangay San Roque, Marikina City.

Around 42 grams of suspected shabu placed in four sachets and worth P285,600 were confiscated from the suspects.Meanwhile, a suspect, identified by EPD director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta as “Mak,” 32, a driver, was nabbed after the police poserbuyer successfully bought drugs from the suspect during the operation at 11:30 p.m. at Jabson Street in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Police recovered two bags containing 239 grams of suspected kush with a value of P334,600, as well as two bags of suspected marijuana worth P14,160 from the suspect.The Marikina CPS and the EPD conducted surveillance on the activities of the suspects, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency , prior to their arrest.

The suspects are facing sale and possession of illegal drugs charges under Republic Act No. 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.” “We will enhance our maximum police operations on the ground, conduct round the clock police patrol and presence, and intensify anti-criminality and buy-bust operations to ensure peace and order within our community,” said Brig. Gen. Asueta.
