Over 800 residents who fell victim to a large fire in Barangay Carmen, Calbayog City in Samar received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.As seen on "24 Oras" on Monday, Marcelino Manilingit was one of those affected. Due to the fire, he lost all the money he had saved up from working abroad, as well as his local sari-sari store.The GMA Kapuso Foundation quickly helped the affected residents and gave food packs under "Operation Bayanihan.
According to Betty Jane Arnejo, an officer of the City Social Welfare and Development, the residents need basic necessities like food and non-food items like diapers for children. There were no reported casualties or injuries due to the fire. The cause is still being investigated. If you're interested to help, the GMA Kapuso Foundation accepts donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
