Over 800 cars, 33 motorcycles clamped in Manila
Elements of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau conducted the clamping operations at San Andres Market, along Leveriza Street and Pilar Hidalgo Lim Street in Malate.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said in a Facebook post that the clearing and clamping operations were done after he received several complaints about the erring vehicles. Recently, 17 illegally parked trucks along R-10 or Mel Lopez Boulevard were also impounded by the MTPB Special Operations Group and Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit.
Domagoso lashed out at the drivers of the said trucks who allegedly keep on complaining about alleged extortion activities of traffic enforcers when they were the ones committing traffic violations. “Ang luwag-luwag na nga po ng kalsada, cleared na rin po ang obstructions, tapos ang dami pang truck na obstruction. Nagkaka-aksidente, eh ,” he said in a Facebook live broadcast.
