San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said that over 4,000 individuals aged 12 to 17 have signed up for the city’s COVID-19 vaccination program amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview with ABS-CBN on Tuesday, Zamora said that the number of registrants has climbed in just two weeks since the city government launched its vaccination portal for minors. “Kitang-kita ko nga ho ang excitement ng mga magulang sapagkat gusto ho talaga nilang mabigyan ng proteksyon ang kanilang mga anak. Alam niyo po ang aming datos dito sa San Juan 15 percent po ng aming active cases ay 18 and below, so malaking porsyento pa rin po ito ng kabataan na naaapektuhan at nagkakaroon ng COVID-19 ,” Zamora said.
According to the national government, the pilot vaccination of individuals aged 12 to 17 will commence in the following hospitals in Metro Manila:4. Pasig City General HospitalVaccine czar Carlito Galvez said that the vaccination of minors will be done by phase starting with 15 to 17 years old, then 12 to 14. He added that after 14 days, the vaccination will then be expanded to other local government units in Metro Manila.
