MORE than 10,000 soldiers and police have been deployed in Negros Oriental to hunt down the remaining suspects in the killing of its governor Roel Degamo and eight other persons.
Defense Officer-in-Charge Carlito Galvez Jr. arrived in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental on Saturday to discuss with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police officials the creation of a joint task force group that will carry out the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to suppress the criminal activities and impunity in the province.
Meanwhile, Pelare disclosed that the SITG is now in its final stretch of investigation as it has safely transferred the custody of the arrested suspects to the Department of Justice together with their extra-judicial confessions, the pieces of evidence, testimonials and forensic reports.
