The 2024 Kalayaan Job Fair at SM City Iloilo connected a thousand job seekers to 66 local companies, highlighting the city government’s commitment to local employment on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The 2024 Kalayaan Job Fair, hosted by SM City Iloilo and the Iloilo City government as part of the nationwide 126Independence Day festivities, successfully provided on-the-spot employment to over 100 job seekers. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between local talents and potential employers.
A noteworthy 110 individuals were hired immediately, while 707 others have been slated for further interviews, reflecting the fair’s effectiveness in matching candidates with suitable employment opportunities. The fair featured more than 2,000 job openings from local businesses, emphasizing the city’s commitment to promoting local employment and supporting community development.
“We prioritized local businesses to ensure that our residents can find job opportunities within their community,” Umadhay added.
