“I was there, but I stood pretty far away from the Cup,” Batherson said with a smile Friday. “It was really fun. He had it for two days, and I was there both days, and to see him celebrate it made me pretty jealous.When the National Hockey League calls the Stanley Cup the best trophy in sports, nobody can put up a good argument against the claim. There’s so much history involved and that’s why so many people flock to it as it makes its way around the world in the summer.
Watching MacKinnon, Crosby and Marchand put in the work every day in the off-season has helped him understand what it takes to be an elite NHL player. So what separates a guy like MacKinnon from the rest? He has 283 goals and 406 assists for 689 points in 686 NHL games and his consistency is through the roof.
