The Town of Stephenville is receiving more than $670,000 in funding from the Climate Change Challenge Fund, an initiative to finance projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. FileSTEPHENVILLE, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador is announcing cost-shared funding of over $670,000 for a fuel switching and efficiency project for the Town of Stephenville.
The project will replace the oil heating system with electric boilers, resulting in a reduction of 205 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year. The Climate Change Challenge Fund provides support for initiatives that aim to lower greenhouse gas emissions and is open to not-for-profits, public sector entities, municipalities and industry.
"Stephenville is very grateful to receive funding to upgrade and make our recreational facilities more sustainable."
