MANILA, Philippines — Agad na magsasampa ng quo warranto case ang Office of Solicitor General laban sa suspendidong Bamban Mayor Alice Guo matapos kumpirmahin ng National Bureau of Investigation na mayroon siyang fingerprints sa Chinese passport holder na si Guo Hua Ping.
“Kung siya ay nagmisrepresenta ng kanyang sarili sa ilalim ng panunumpa o gumawa ng mga maling pahayag sa kanyang certificate of candidacy at mga kaugnay na dokumento, siya ay maaaring managot sa kriminal para sa perjury o falsification, bukod pa sa pagpapatalsik sa pampublikong tungkulin sa pamamagitan ng tamang paglilitis,” sabi ni Guevarra.
Limang dating opisyal ng noo’y Department of Transportation and Communications ang hinatulang guilty ng Sandiganbayan sa kasong graft. Namatay agad ang isang babaeng naka-motorsiklo nang mabagok ang ulo sa pagtilapon nang bumangga sa gutter at poste sa Buendia Flyover, Makati City, kamakalawa.
