BUKIT MERTAJAM: State governments under the opposition coalition should improve their relationship with the Federal Government for the sake of the people, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said the differences in political ideology should not be the stumbling block between the Federal Government and state governments in an effort to help the people.

He said when there was an election, political parties could fight with each other but called on everyone to make amends after that. He also dismissed allegations that the Federal government had allegedly turned its back on opposition-led state governments by denying their constituency allocations. He had said that both chief whips must start deliberating on the matter and reiterated that he had agreed in principle to provide equal allocation for Opposition MPs.
