It's only been six months, but Oppo has already revealed its next-generation flip phone, the Find N3 Flip. It has a new chip, a triple-camera setup and, incredibly, an even larger battery.
For one, the battery capacity—already the highest in the industry—grows from 4,300mAh to a massive 4,800mAh. It’s also rumoured that the device will support up to 67W of SuperVOOC fast charging, an increase from the Find N2 Flip’s 44W.
But perhaps the biggest news is that the Find N3 Flip will be the first flip phone to feature a triple-camera setup , with the addition of what Oppo calls a “professional portrait lens.” Judging by the use of similar language to describe the Reno 10 series’ third camera, it’s likely that this is a telephoto camera, as evidenced by the “2x” icon on the camera interface in the teaser video .
Rumour has it the Find N3 Flip’s telephoto shooter will have a resolution of 32MP, complementing the existing 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide and 32MP inner selfie cameras. It should be noted that Huawei P50 Pocket also featured three cameras, although one of those was a multi-spectral sensor to increase colour accuracy.
Unlike its competitors, the Find N3 Flip will reportedly continue to utilise a MediaTek chipset rather than a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, this time a Dimensity 9200 instead of the 9000+. It’s also said the phone will have up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. While the Find N2 Flip was sold outside China, a global release for the Find N3 Flip is anything but a given. Its larger sibling, the Find N2, as well as the latest Find X6 flagship, were reserved for Oppo’s home market, so here’s hoping the new model escapes that fate.
