Dane Stuckey has been appointed as the Chief Information Security Officer at OpenAI, transitioning from his previous role also as CISO at Palantir Technologies.

He announced his new position on social media platform X and emphasized the importance of security in OpenAI’s mission. “Security is germane to OpenAI’s mission. It is critical we meet the highest standards for compliance, trust, and security to protect hundreds of millions of users of our products, enable democratic institutions to maximally benefit from these technologies, and drive the development of safe AGI for the world,” he stated.

With over ten years at Palantir, including six years as CISO, Stuckey brings extensive experience in cybersecurity.“I am so excited for this next chapter, and can’t wait to help secure a future where AI benefits us all,” he added. OpenAI has been enhancing its security measures, including forming a safety and security committee to guide critical decisions regarding its projects.

The company has also disrupted multiple cyber operations this year to show its commitment to cybersecurity.
