Ontario driver charged with impaired after police find mountain of beer cans in front seat, OPP say

A driver is facing a litany of charges following a daytime RIDE check by Grey Bruce OPP that also led to the discovery of what appears to be a large pile of beer cans, some that look empty, inside a vehicle.Georgian BluffsThey added that the driver entered the RIDE check around 5:20 p.m. with officers finding “signs of impairment,” a press release from the OPP read.Police arrested the driver and took them to an OPP station for further testing.

Police have charged a 61-year-old with eight different offences, including operation while impaired, four counts of operation while prohibited, four counts of driving while under suspension, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, use of plate not authorized for vehicle, driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Police said the accused has been released and is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
