In Hufnagel’s 14-year tenure as GM, the Stamps have posted a winning record in each season, qualifying for the playoffs every year, including finishing first in the West Division seven times and winning Grey Cups in 2008, ’14 and ’18. The move had been in the works for a while, included as part of Dickenson’s three-year contract extension negotiated last year.“Dave had already been involved in personnel decisions and moving into the general manager’s office is the natural progression for both he and the football club,” Hufnagel said. “The time was right for me to take a step back and reduce some of my workload while still remaining involved with the player-evaluation process.
“We’re happy with what we’re doing, but ultimately, we want to take it to the next level,” said Dickenson, who’s team has suffered early playoff exits the last three seasons. “You are judged by your performance — and we need to break through. We just have to understand that it’s a long process and a long road.
