One of WA's largest public sector unions accepts government's latest wages offer

After months of negotiations, a union representing 40,000 public sector workers in Western Australia accepts the government's wages and conditions offer.

This includes working from home provisions, controls around workloads, protections from being contacted out of work hours, and improved accessibility to personal leave."We continue to be frustrated by a process where government sets a wages cap through its wages policy and it really decouples bargaining from where we sit at the bargaining table with employers," she said.

"Ultimately, we want to have a wages framework where we are able to bargain for a greater array of outcomes.The United Workers Union accepted the government's offer in October, while the Health Professionals Union followed suit in November.In a statement, Premier Mark McGowan welcomed CPSU/CSA members reaching an agreement.

WA Premier Mark McGowan welcomed the deal, but still has work to do to lock in deals for police and nurses.
