For the fifth time this year, Fil-American bet Lauren Hoffman has gone below the Philippine national record, which Robyn Brown used to hold.
This gave Hoffman her sixth medal in the event this year. She was ahead of Brown, who checked in at fifth place in 56.93 seconds. That national mark fell repeatedly after Hoffman submitted a 56.39-second performance during the Hurricane Collegiate Invitationals in Miami last March.
