MANILA, Philippines — Oly Okaro sizzled for 38 points to lift the Akari Chargers past the gritty Choco Mucho Flying Titans, and win via reverse sweep, 18-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-13, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday.
MANILA, Philippines — Oly Okaro sizzled for 38 points to lift the Akari Chargers past the gritty Choco Mucho Flying Titans, and win via reverse sweep, 18-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-13, in the Premier Volleyball League 2024 Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday. Okaro tied Tots Carlos' season high of 38 points, and was also the fifth over all highest scoring in the league after recording 33 attacks, three aces, and two blocks.
With Akari down by two sets, the Chargers put up a fight in the third and fourth frame as Grethcel Soltones and Okaro led the offense to equalize the match at 2-all.In the deciding frame, Okaro powered back-to-back swings, and Ivy Lacsina hammered it in for a strong 3-0 start.After a see-saw action, Choco Mucho and Akari were tied by 7-all, with Maddie Madayag scoring from a slide attack.
