The remains of overseas Filipino worker Jenny Alvarado, who died of suffocation in Kuwait in January, arrived back in the Philippines on Thursday. Alvarado's death, alongside two other colleagues, sparked an investigation and demands for justice from migrant worker groups. The Department of Migrant Workers and OWWA offered condolences and support to Alvarado's family.

THE Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration said on Friday that the properly identified remains of overseas Filipino worker Jenny Alvarado arrived in the country on Thursday via Kuwait Airways flight KU 417.Alvarado died of suffocation while at work in Kuwait alongside a Sri Lankan and a Nepalese colleague on Jan. 2.The cadaver of the Nepalese worker was mistakenly sent to the Philippines on Jan. 10. Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac condoled with the family of the deceased, assuring them of financial, funeral and burial assistance from the OWWA.OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio also visited Alvarado's family in Montalban, Rizal, earlier this week.Meanwhile, the Samahan ng mga Domestic Helpers sa Gitnang Silangan on Wednesday demanded justice for their fallen colleague.
