Overseas Filipino Workers party-list Rep. Marissa Magsino welcomed the opening of the Department of Migrant Workers’ offices in Budapest, Hungary, and Vienna, Austria.
As early as February 2024, she formally wrote to DMW about the importance of opening a migrant workers office in Budapest as it is becoming an emerging labor market. “As labor migration continues to be a cornerstone of our economy and unstoppable in the foreseeable future, I truly believe we have to focus on and capitalize on emerging labor markets, such as in Europe, especially those that commit to international labor standards, strong workers’ protection, and dynamic opportunities,” Magsino said.
Magsino reiterated the OFW party-list’s commitment to advocate for the rights and well-being of Filipino workers abroad.
