Experts studying the coronavirus pandemic in the Philippines have noted a “significant increase” in new cases reported in Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo City, and Davao City over the past week.
The three cities, while occupying varying spots in the top 16 areas registering a high number of new cases, saw the largest increase in cases in recent days. Zamboanga City, meanwhile, still reported the highest number of new COVID-19 cases over the past week, though its increase in the number of infections was lower than those observed in Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo City, and Davao City.earlier said it was monitoring an increase in cases in Visayas and Mindanao."The rise in the number of cases is not that fast but there is an increase nonetheless," Dr. Alethea de Guzman of the DOH Epidemiology Bureau said in a press briefing.
