Filipino pole vault ace Ernest John 'EJ' Obiena expressed his anger and disappointment on Sunday night, October 15 over the doping allegations made by Anais Lavillenie, wife of 2012 Olympic men's pole vault gold medalist Renaud Lavillenie.
Anais wrote her accusations that Obiena, the world's no. 2 pole vaulter, is using performance-enhancing drugs in the comments section of Vaulter Magazine - Vaulter Club Inc. Facebook page which shared The Manila Times' post, which reported Obiena's belief that he can beat world no. 1 Armand Duplantis.A Lynn Lazar commented last Friday 'Well, you have to believe to achieve. So he's on the right track at least. Realistically? Anything is possible.
Fans in the comments section of the said post have called out Anais for his unfounded accusation on Obiena, some even calling her bitter.'Why delete your comment? You must face the consequences of your own stupidity,' a Jan Vicon wrote.'Anais Lavillenie is just really bitter because a pole vaulter outside US and Europe is doing successfully and has improved overtime.
