DAVAO CITY – The number of coronavirus disease cases in Davao region has surged past 500 during the weekend.

Based on the Department of Health-Davao Region’s Regional Situation Update on COVID-19, a total of 505 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded as of 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Last Friday, June 26, 11 new cases were recorded, bringing the number of cases to 503. Seven of these cases were from Davao City, two from Davao de Oro, one from Davao del Norte and one from Davao Oriental.Meanwhile, 29 people have recovered from COVID-19 on Friday and Saturday, bringing the total number of successful recoveries in the region to 346.

The youngest of those who have recovered was a 19-year-old female patient, while the oldest was a 67-year old woman. Both of them were from Barangay 23-C in Davao City.
