The mother of NRL star Payne Haas remains behind bars, accused of killing three people in a horrific head-on collision in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Susan Zimmer, 70, her partner Chris Fawcett, 79, and Zimmer’s daughter Steffanie, 35, died in the fiery crash. Taufua, 46, was expected to apply for bail as the charges were mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Her son has been granted personal leave from the Brisbane Broncos until January 16 as the family grapples with the tragedy.Taufua is also charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police and driving without a licence.
