All the usual “glamour racing” suspects were out in force at Surfers Paradise this morning for the beachside barrier draw for the 1200-metre Magic Millions Classic.
As the barriers were drawn in a marquee on the beachfront, Magic Millions owners’, Gerry Harvey and wife Katie Page, had front-row seats.Olympic equestrian and Princess Anne’s daughter, and her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall “This is the first year all the internationals have been able to travel freely in three years, so it’s an even bigger deal than usual, and we’re anticipating a good sale, fingers crossed,” Harvey toldHarvey has about 70 of his homebred yearlings in the sale, drawn from a number of studs he owns or in which he has a stake, including Baramul Stud and Vinery in NSW, and Westbury Stud in New Zealand.
