WIND signal 5 has been raised over the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan in Luzon as Ofel , which intensified into a super typhoon Thursday morning, November 14, 2024, was forecast to make landfall along the eastern coast of the province Thursday afternoon.In its 11 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that Ofel has maintained its strength, with the center located over the coastal waters of Divilacan, Isabela as of 10 a.m.
The rest of Isabela, the rest of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of Mountain Province, the rest of Ifugao, the rest of Abra, the northern portion of Benguet , Ilocos Sur, the northern portion of La Union , and the northern and central portions of Aurora were placed under TCWS 1.Pagasa warned that extreme impacts from typhoon-force winds are possible within any of the areas under TCWS 5.It added that there is a moderate to high risk of life-threatening storm surge with peak heights reaching 1.
