PAGASA predicts fair weather for most of the Philippines on Monday, February 3rd, but warns of isolated rains and cloudy skies in Northern Luzon and other regions due to the northeast monsoon and easterlies.
Most of the Philippines is predicted to have fair weather on Monday, February 3rd. However, the northeast monsoon , also known as 'amihan,' and easterlies will continue to bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers to Northern Luzon and other regions. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration ( PAGASA ) stated that there are no low-pressure areas or typhoons currently being monitored within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
PAGASA Weather Specialist Rhea Torres explained that the northeast monsoon will primarily affect Northern Luzon, particularly the eastern areas, bringing isolated rains. The rest of the country will experience the effects of easterlies, characterized by warm winds from the Pacific Ocean. Torres anticipates that a significant portion of the archipelago will continue to experience hot weather, especially during midday. PAGASA's daily weather forecast indicates that the northeast monsoon will impact Northern Luzon, while easterlies will influence the remaining regions. Easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Caraga. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Additionally, Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao are anticipated to have cloudy skies with light rains due to the 'amihan.' Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley are projected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon. PAGASA advises caution against potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms or moderate to heavy rainfall
