The Cagayan Valley Regional Police has reported no casualty or damage in the 7.3 magnitude quake that hit Abra and most part of Luzon on Wednesday morning, July 27.
Police Maj. Sharon Mallillin, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 2, said they have already received initial assessment from their personal on the ground and they reported that no major damage or any casualty so far.
“Although the epicenter of the earthquake is in the adjacent region, we are thankful that there were no reported damage and casualty in our region. But we are still waiting for more reports from our personnel on the ground,” said Mallilin. She said the instruction of the Regional Director, Police Brig. Gen. Steve Ludan, is to mobilize standby forces for deployment in other regions that were severely hit by the earthquake.
“We have trained personnel ready for deployment. We are just waiting for any request from other region for assistance,” said Mallilin.
