THE Department of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday, October 8, 2023, that there were no reported Filipino casualties in Israel following the attack of Palestine militants.In a radio interview, DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Affairs Eduardo Jose de Vega said the Philippine embassy in Israel is in close coordination with the Filipino community there.

He said they have yet to receive reports about the alleged abduction of several Filipinos, noting that all the 300 agricultural workers near the Gaza Strip were accounted for.In a separate interview, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration administrator Arnell Ignacio said they are closely monitoring around 200 OFWs in the Gaza Strip.“Meron five caregivers sa Gaza na all accounted for na meron pa tayong hinihintay na update from anim pa na mga OFWs ,” he said.
