No drones, planes: CAAP enforces no fly zone at Batasan for SONA2019
MANILA - The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines will be implementing limited and no-fly zones at the Batasang Pambansa Complex "and its immediate vicinity" in Quezon City starting Friday, July 20 until July 23.
In an advisory, CAAP said this is to ensure security and safety during the opening of the 18th Congress and the 4th State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte at the House of Representatives on Monday, July 22. CAAP said the no fly zone will be enforced from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. within a 4-nautical mile radius from the surface to 10,000 feet of the House of Representatives on Monday.
But from 9 a.m. of July 20 until 11 a.m. of July 21, drones and aircraft will be "limited from flying at a vertical limit of 700 feet AGL " within a 10-kilometer radius of Batasang Pambansa. CAAP also suspended training flights of Luzon flying schools from 12 a.m. of July 22, Monday, to 12 a.m. of July 23, Tuesday.
