Antipolo City and the Municipality of Cainta in Rizal announced on Thursday, Dec. 23, that they are suspending their COVID-19 vaccination activities as the Christmas season draws near.
In a Facebook post, Executive Assistant to the Mayor Jun Ynares said that Antipolo City will halt all its vaccination programs starting tomorrow, Dec. 24 to Dec. 25, and on Dec. 31, to Jan. 1.
Ynares said that the move was made to give the city’s frontliners some much needed rest and time to be with their loved ones during the Yuletide season. “Antabayanan po lamang ang ating daily vaccination advisories na ating ipinopost araw-araw sa ating official Facebook platforms ,” Ynares said. Meanwhile, the local government unit of Cainta also announced the postponement of their vaccination drive for the same reason.
In its official Facebook page, the LGU said that all vaccination programs will be suspended from Dec. 24 to 26. The inoculation drive will resume on Dec. 27.
