No COVID-19 second wave, it’s only in media — Lorenzana

Despite some countries experiencing a rise in the number of coronavirus disease infections for the second time, National Task Force Against COVID-19 chairperson Delfin Lorenzana apparently does not believe in the highly contagious disease’s so-called “second wave.”Lorenzana went on to blame the media for supposedly sensationalizing the data presented by the Department of Health regarding the daily number of reported infections.

When it comes to the current pandemic, there is no agreed upon scientific definition of the term second wave. This reportedly came when quarantine restrictions were eased in Europe after it initially quashed COVID-19. But Lorenzana was confident that COVID-19 outbreaks are “normal” and all that has to be done is to implement measures to contain it again, including the enforcement of lockdowns, isolation, contact tracing, and comprehensive treatment.
