Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit will not be laying charges, months after a serious collision in Ajax that involved a police cruiser.According to an SIU report, an officer was on-route to an unrelated call about a person in crisis when he collided with oncoming traffic. The other vehicle had been turning left into a plaza at the time.
First, he claimed the officer was going more than twice the speed limit at times, and did not continuously have his siren blaring. “These factors, I am satisfied, contributed in some measure to the collision,” he wrote.
